Cheryl Herr

Cheryl Herr has been a Labor and Delivery nurse in the Birthing Center at St. Mary's for more than 20 years. She knows about the "patient experience" first hand, having delivered all six of her children in the Birthing Center.

Having a baby is one of the most memorable and emotional times a woman can experience. I love being able to be a part of that with women and their families. I strive to help make the experience everything they have dreamed that day would be.

I enjoy getting to know each mom. They all have a special story of their own. I feel blessed to witness such a miracle every time I come to work.

I also enjoy that we get to care for the same patients during their entire stay. It is so exciting to be able to care for them from admission, through labor and delivery, then care for them as a family. After a couple of days, I walk them to the car, give them hugs and talk about the "next" time they'll be leaving. I've delivered several children in the same families--and the cards and letters I receive from them mean so much to me!
