their patients will recieve the highest in quality care.
One of the most important steps in becoming a doctor is residency. The
residency programs at St. Mary’s Medical Center provides a great
learning environment that focuses on training that emphasizes on the fundamentals
of patient care. This is done by developing medical skills and interpersonal skills.
The residency programs provide hands on learning that consist of practical
skills of doctoring, how to order and interpret test, how to make a diagnoses,
perform surgeries, etc. The Program Directors also understands that it
is important for the residents to build their decision making skills,
develop leadership skills and learn ways to prevent burnout.
We offer two residency programs, General Surgery and Orthopedic. Both are
five-year programs that are ACGME accredited and will prepare each resident
to pass the Boards.
